The final days of school are fast approaching. We finished up our Math unit on Measurement and have started working on Geometry. For the rest of the quarter the students will be reading in Literature Cirlces and also will be working on various reading strategies for example, identifying character traits, tone and mood, and setting. Mr. Bennett will be quizzing the class on our religion objectives, St. Luke's Gospel and the Liturgical Calendar during the next few weeks.

Terra Nova testing is over !!!!!!!! Results will be out April/May.

Each Friday this month we will be participating in a Station of the Cross service with 6th - 8th grade students. We continue to talk about and reevaluate our Lenten promises.

In reading we have started a new chapter book "The Fighting Ground" . This book ties in with the current Social Studies topic of the Revolutionary War. I hope the students will be able to make connections between the two.

This week we had volunteers from Junior Achievement visit our classroom to talk about the economy and business world. We learned about demand and supply, different resources, high-demand jobs etc. The students also got to participate in activities and play games related to the business world.

Congratulations to Marcos, who was one of the winners in the Illinois Environmental Protection Contest. He has been invited to visit Springfield in April.
