TerraNova
Yes, it is that time of year again! TerraNova Testing begins next week.It is very important that the students are in class everyday next week. Of course if your child is ill, keep them at home. They will not be able to perform to the best of their ability - make-ups will be held the following week.
What can I do to be ready for TerraNova?
~ get a good night's sleep
~ eat a healthy breakfast
~ pack a snack
~ be on time for school
~ listen carefully to instructions
~ read all directions
~ stay focused
~ do your best
Don't forget bring three #2 pencils.

Recent Events
Most of the class enjoyed the performance of Shakespear's A Midnight Summer's Dream. The show definitely gave them an idea of the style of writing and some of the themes found in Shakespear's plays.
Last week we received our Ashes in preparation for the season of Lent and Easter. We watched a PowerPoint with 6th Grade that explained what the season is really about. Currently, we are finishing up our packs on St. Luke's Gospel. I will add some more pages to this that will cover the stories of the Easter Season. The students will be tested before Easter by Mr. Bennett on our main objective for the year which is the New Testament (in particular, St. Luke's Gospel).

CSW
We had a great week filled with many fun activities to help us celebrate Catholic Schools Week. On Monday we enjoyed reading with and to our Prek 3 buddies and then we sat with them during the opening Prayer Service. On Tuesday we were all seeing double and sometimes triple as we had dress like twins day. We loved the "Olympics" on Thursday afternoon and many of us went home with sore throats from all the cheering. Mr. Bennentt and the teachers presented many awards on Friday, including our Honor Roll winners, our class Peace Maker and Effort Award and the poster/poem winners for each grade.
